Hi,
I am new in this forum. I am looking for a 12 v DC to 220~230 v AC 600/800w SMPS Inverter for Home appliance use like ips. I am looking all around the web for this kind of device but not getting clear answer. Please anybody help me providing full diagram and PCB layout.

Dear Goldsmith,

If you do that it will be helpful to me. It will be more better if you can even give me the diagram of a 600w SMPS Inverter Circuit.

I can help you to design !
At first , we will have , an H bridge to increase the 12 volts of your battery , ( with HF transformer ) and then another H bridge with SPWM and without transformer ( it will has a simple filter at the out put ) . and then a feed back through out put , to the first stage .

Tnx again. I think i'll get all support from you.
As much as i know the first H bridge circuit increase the input dc 12/24 Volt to 380vDC with Hi frequency. And the second H bridge with SPWM without transformer, change the Hi frequency 380vdc to 220vac 50Hz output. Am i right ?? If no pls provide me (If u Can) stage by stage information of design.

Please Provide me a common H bridge Design to increase DC voltage according to Requirement. Which circuit can be change as per our Requirements.
Also second H bridge stage and the final stage.

Can we make commercial SMPS for home appliance use ??

Why 380 volts ? 311 volts . and why changing high frequency 311 volts to the 50 HZ ? i have to describe it again :
1- we will change the amplitude of a low value DC voltage to the high value such as 311 volts ( of course square wave ) and then we will rectify and filter it . and then ( it has an HF transformer with pretty low size ) we will use this increased DC voltage as supply of another stage ( it is H bridge too ) . but this stage will get SPWM ! not PWM ( first stage has PWM ) . and this stage won't have any transformer . it just will have a low pass filter . ( LC ) . you understand ?
BTW : do you know meaning behind PWM and SPWM and difference between them ? and what about boot strap drivers ?

Hello rezacadet,i can give you diagram of modified sine wave using H-bridge if you are intrested.

At first you can use an SG3526N and two mosfet driver ( e.g IR2113 ) you should design an H bridge with it , to achieve high voltage ( 311 volts DC ) . i think 120KHZ would be good as PWM frequency . at first read the datasheet of SG3526N . and tell me can you design first stage ?
By the way , are you familiar with inductor and ferrite transformer design ? if no the way is pretty simple . i can give you just 4 page ( tutorial ) . that you can design all kind of your magnetic elements with it !

Please never mind, i was detached from electronic ckt for last 7 years, so it will take some time to understand. i want to know something, why it's 311v & why 120KHZ ? is there any specific reasons? please give me your tutorial file for help.

I came back again !
You asked me why 311 volts ? well is the phase voltage 220 volts in your country ? if yes , don't forget that this value is effective . ve*sqrt(2) =311 volts . did you know it ? and about 120KHZ , of course it has a reason . if you increase your frequency , the size and price of your magnetic elements will decrease . but we have some red boundaries in design . i think if you design your first stage as a current mode system , the result will be pretty good . but for current mode we have a limitation to select frequency of operation . it can't exceed from these values . ( if you exceed from this frequency the result will become to be bad ) .
By the way , are you familiar with SMPS design process ?

Its me again. I understand what you have said in previous post. my country's phase voltage is 220v. I have some small idea about SMPS but not clear concept.
Can you please give me some doc step by step, that i can achieve a clear concept about SMPS design process.

@Goldsmith: If the requirement is to design a ferrite transformer needed for dc-dc push pull bridge converter having the spec (Vp=12v, Vs=320v, VA=500, f=60kHz), how can we chose the required ferrite core. Could you please show us the step by step process of it?

I didn't find the way to chose required core for a desired power handling capability at certain frequency. The process shown there mainly related to calculation of number turns if there is already a core at hand.

Should we not chose the core first then turns calculation?

SMPS is a large field. There are various topics. There are various topologies to choose from. It would be sensible to start reading from a book. Marty Brown's "Power Supply Cookbook" is a good book to get your basics right. Then, you can read other books. You should also go through the application notes related to SMPS of various manufacturers.
