Shifting voltage

Hi! I´m fairly new to this. I have an output signal of +/- 5V and I want to use a 0-10 V A->D converter. I assume I have to shift the range somehow. I´ve been reading about clamping but do not really get the it, how could I solve this problem?

Thanks

Fredrik

If your signal isn't too slow, you can easily shift it with a C-R-combination:
output_signal - serial C - R_to_+5V . RC » 1/(2π*fmin) . May be you need a huge C, but it can be an electrolytic one, even a GoldCap.

If you don't like this, I guess you need a summing opAmp with ± (12 .. 15)V supply.
