Hi in my application (HF small preamplifier) I use BC550C and it's complement BC560C (similar to BC549C and BC559C or BC547C and BC557C)
These two devices should have the the same HFE, but I notice from the datasheets that the PNP one, has lower Ft. Therefore it does not provide the same amplification, despite my circuit is built "mirrored" from the NPN one.
Is there a bjt that can match the BC550C but on higher Ft than the BC560C? (through hole only)

Hi,

"BC" transistors are not really HF transistors. If you are looking for higher frequency transitors look for "BF".

"B" stands for "silicon" (not germanium)
"C" for low frequency
"F" for high frequency

Unless you buy "matched pair" transistors the values may differ a lot.
Mind to define for which parameters they are "matched".

Best performance gives a "matched pair in one package".
