Hi, Gurus,
Supposed there is a lens antenna with radius 15mm, what is the focus area size for the lens?
I will put a microstrip patch antenna in the area, so I want to the size to limit the patch.
And now I have a patch with 2.4mm*7mm, is it too large for the lens?
If I use the 2.4mm*7mm, except the gain variation, any other thing need to be considered? such as phase etc.
Sincerely,
Tony Liu

Hi, ALL,
So for the attachment picture, the X size (2.4mm) of the patch antenna should be ok, and the Y size (7mm) of the patch NOT ok?
Right?

Best,
Tony Liu

The answer depends on what properties you need. For a symmetric, narrow beam, the red curve is "better", yes. If you simply need more gain at/near broadside, then the other option would be "better".
