Hi,

I am looking for thyristor gate drive IC. Can the thyristor be driven by MOSFET / IGBT Gate driver IC? Any recommendations? It says DC gate current required for trigger in thyristor datasheet and it is close to 300mA. I assume this will be like a peak current in mosfet driver for short duration.

Thanks

Hi,

Theoretically yes.
But it depends on the details: Schematic, voltage, current, timing, of both driver and thyristor need to match.
