Hey there,
There is a fundamental principle that I do not understand regarding wave ports. Lets consider a coaxial cable simulation. It is common to define the waveport along a PEC cap attached to both
edges of the cable. For a coaxial cable the fundamental mode is a TEM.
My question is regarding to the semi-infinite waveguide - does the PEC cap resembles a semi infinite circular waveguide? if so, a TEM mode cant propagate (which is obviously not the case in real live and also in the simulation).
Another option is that it resembles a semi - infinite waveguide with the same cross section of the coaxial cable (this option makes sense).
Thanks
