Hi,
I am looking at a 240VAC offline isolated flyback transformer spec which says the following......

*****************************
Hi-Pot:
PRI, BIAS to SEC (3kV AC)
PRI, SEC to CORE (500V AC)
PRI to BIAS (500V AC)
******************************

.......If Pri to core, and sec to core, is just 500VAC...then how can Pri to sec, possibly be 3kV AC?

Correct - this may be a sloppy statement by some one who has not done any sort of due diligence,

or a typo that should read 1500VAC to core ...

Hi,

Maybe the one is the true isolation voltage
And the other is the test voltage
