Charger Circuit required for Super Capacitor Bank

Hi ,

I need a switching based charger circuit or ic for charging super Cap bank. Here are the specs

Max charging voltage 12V
Current 10 A

Charging Source is Lead acid battery 12V.

That isn't much of a specification but from what you have told us a 1.2 Ohm resistor is all you need. It will limit the current to 10A maximum and the current will drop as the "super cap bank" takes in charge.

Hi,

there are step down (buck) switcher circuit ICs.
Look for one with duty cycle of 100% to get 12V output form 12V input.
Also look for one with current limiting feature.

Many semicondoctur manufacturers produce this ICs.
Each manufacturer should have an interactive selection guide to find a suitable IC. It is free to use. Please do so.

Additionally many distributors have those selection guides, thus you are able to compare between different manufacturers.

well you charge to 12v from 12v...so you need a two fet/two diode buckboost, or a buck that can go to 100% duty...or a sepic, or a flyback
