Hello,
We are getting a steady dribble of failures with our PCB’s on our outdoor equipment. We therefore wish to conformal coat a few batchs of the PCBs in order to see if they don’t fail (ie maybe they will be protected from moisture caused short circuits).
However, the programming vias will end up getting coated in the conformal coating. Just in case we need to re-program a PCB after its been conformal coated, do you know a good solvent to clean off the conformal coating from the programming vias?

Also, is their some substance , "weaker" than conformal coating, that will just give us basic waterproofing?..

Hi,

use a soft coating .. and needles to cut through the coating to the pads.

There are self healing coating available. If you cut the coating then it cures itself.
