Hello.

I am trying to simulate a simple waveguide using wave port in both ends. All seems to work, but I get several warnings saying:

Discrete solution, process hf3d: Port Port1 supports an additional propagating and/or slowly decaying mode whose attenuation is xxxx and propagation constant is xxxx -- Simulating on machine: localhost xxxx

Does anyone know what this means, and how I can fix it?

The new version of HFSS (17) seems to enjoy spewing these out for no apparent good reason.

If you're satisfied you're exciting the correct mode(s), I would (and do) ignore the message.

It means that based on the size of the waveport, additional modes might propagate rather than just the fundamental mode. When assigning waveport increase the number of modes to include them in the simulation.
