This stereo amplifier was based on LM3886 – one of very popular powerful mono amplifiers of very good quality. It provides 60W of continuous power with the load 4ohm or 40W 8ohm at 0,03% distortion in frequency of 20Hz to 20kHz. The system is powered by non-stable symmetric voltage +/-35V. The amplifier was to be simple and cheap.

Housing:
Processed and painted housing of an old radio receiver acted as housing of the amplifier. Front panel is empty, but it can be equipped with a potentiometer or preamplifier as well.

Supply:
  • transformer 200W 2x24V
  • bridge 10A
  • 4x 4700uF
  • 2x 100nF

Fuses:
Two safety fuses 4A for the supply + and – and one fuse 1A for supply 230V are used for the protection of the systems.

List of components:
  • housing
  • transformer
  • LM
  • capacitors
  • heat sink
