Logic Signal Sources

What logic signals do you have to use the Oscilloscope with?
1.) Clock Signals
2.) What else

Most of the logic signals are just low and high voltages, so you mostly use your DVM 99% of the time right?

What other logic signals Pulse from high to low besides clock signals?

If a GATE or Flip flop is not working , what can I use to apply a +5 volt signal with to use as a logic signal source?

1.) A wall wart set at 5 volts, but how much current can I inject into a TTL and CMOS logic chips? Wall warts have high amps
2.) A power supply set at 5 volts, but how much current? I don't want to damage the TTL and CMOS logic chips
3.) What else can I use as a logic signal source?

All of them.

Wall warts have very bad voltage regulation. Rather use a proper regulated supply.

The power supply does not determine how much current flows. The chips will only draw the current they need from the supply.
 

danny davis (or Billy Mayo, depending on which forum you are posting questions to). The nature of your questions indicates you have a dearth of knowledge of logic chips and electronics in general. I suggest you enroll in an electronics course at further education, because getting answers to your many questions will still leave large gaps in your knowledge.

If i set the power supply to 5 volts and it outputs 1000mA or 500mA won't that damage the TTL and CMOS chips?

How much current can a TTL and CMOS chips have on there inputs?
 

If the TTL or CMOS chip has a short internally it will draw more current

What can I use as a logic signal source? or a +5 volt signal?

Would I need to use a 220K in series with the + 5 volt power supply to control the current if I inject it on a input or output of a TTL or CMOS chip?

Yes, all of them. If a logic signal never changed state between low and high, it wouldn't be very useful, would it?

I suppose if you really wanted to, you could make a circuit that never does anything, but why would you want to?
