Electronic counter displays wrong count of the web on the roller ....

LCM 60

if the current count is 10 it displays about 30 ..... i think it needs calibration .. what do you think ?

But how to calibrate it ? OR may it be another problem ?

Electronic counter displays wrong count of the web on the roller ....

-measuring what ??
-measuring principle is ??
-have you any name of device manufacturer and type ??

LCM 60 tells nothing to me.

CET VISUALIZED DIGITAL TOTALIZER

---------- Post added at 04:03 ---------- Previous post was at 04:01 ----------

The LCM 60 counter finds application where there is the
necessity to visualize mono-directional counts deriving
from electromechanical and logical contacts, proximity
and encoder.

1. Check that counter input sensor gives all the sensed and good quality pulses to count input.
- use oscilloscope to check pulse quality and level
-check inhibit signal, if inhibit is on , counter do not add counter input pulses
-if possible use parallel connected counter to check counted pulse number

2. If you are sure these two things are ok , check parameter settings.
-Input Fast - Slow.
-multiplier n1 and n2

How to check parameter settings Input Fast - Slow & multiplier n1 and n2 ?

How to check inhibit signal ?

thanks

How to check parameter settings Input Fast - Slow & multiplier n1 and n2 ?

Everything is told in attached PDF with post #3

How to check inhibit signal ?

Check with scope connector 6 = GND and connector 9 = signal Inhibit

what it should show (the scope) & what it shouldn't ?

the machine operator says that it always displays more counts than the actual ones ...... should check its parameters ?

thanks

what it should show (the scope) & what it shouldn't ?

1. Measure voltage between connector points 5 - 6
(6)= 0Vdc , (5) = +24Vdc +/- 20%

2. measured count pulses in point 7 should be in range (voltage in point 5) +0...-20%
-all pulses should have equal voltage and "sharp edges".

the machine operator says that it always displays more counts than the actual ones ...... should check its parameters ?

3. If parameters are not changed by somebody, there should be some fail in counted pulses.
-check from where the pulses are generated ( is there any proximity sensor for
sending count pulses , check is adjusting there correct )

4. If you must change parameters ,
remember to write down the original values first.
( parameters n1 and n2 are counter multipliers )

yeah there's a sensor , i think its a proximity sensor

The name of the sensor is Magnetschalte 100 VA, 250 v , 2A ... Typ GMS 9

There are only 4 wires connected to the LCM 60 counter

at terminal 3 : 110 VAC
at terminal 4 : 0 VAC
at terminal 5 : + 24 Vdc 80mA
at termial 7 : Input

and its selected in pnp configuration ....

Now how to check the inhibit signals & other things to be checked which you mentioned in the above post ? Should i follow the same steps & the same patterns in this condition , as you mentioned above ?

thanks

This sensor is Magnetic Proximity Switch ,
active switching element is reed-switch.

Sensor is 2-wire type , connected between terminals 5 and 7

It is typical when they get older, this type of switch can give the uncertain
contact and thus cause a false pulse number
- bad contact = too low pulse number
- contact vibrating = too high pulse number

General info in pages 3...6
Kuebler GMS 9 in page 9

Now how to check the inhibit signals

If there is only 5-7 connected , check only count pulses ( 6 - 7)
and 24Vdc supply (5-6)

pnp configuration is right.

the machine operator says that it always displays more counts than the actual ones

I guess bad contacts ( vibrating ) , so i would replace sensor.

As i wrote in post#8

1. Measure voltage between connector points 5 - 6
(6)= 0Vdc , (5) = +24Vdc +/- 20%

2. measured count pulses in point 7 should be in range (voltage in point 5) +0...-20%
-all pulses should have equal voltage and "sharp edges".

- all pulses should have equal lenght.

Use oscilloscope for checking pulses.
