Hi,
I am working on an LC meter project that works by measuring the frequency of an oscillator which depends on the DUT connected to its tank circuit. I need to design one from first principles. I will have a precise 'reference' tank circuit of which i will know the frequency. This circuit would have quite a significant range of inductance and capacitance on which it should oscillate.

Can someone point me to a good oscillator (type) to start working with and maybe some good books?

thanks
