hi all
i am continuing my project spot belling machine (may be many of you know this project because i had discussed a lot) and i think this is working properly.
i am testing this on PROTEUS software. but due to only 8 Mz frequency the output is not good enough so i need to increase crystal frequency but i don't know how to increase frequency in PROTEUS.

can any body tell me how i can increase frequency.
i am using ATmega128 in PROTEUS an in configuration of ATmega128 there is 8Mz internal RC option is working. the option for external crystal is not working. it shows some error.

so can any body tell me how can i solve my little problem.

Thanks

Hi,
Select "External Crystal High Frequency", in the box below beside "Clock Frequency" where it's written "Default" type in "16MHz" or any frequency that you want. If your frequency is less than 8 MHz, select "External Crystal Medium Frequency" and then type in the required frequency.

Hope this helps.
Tahmid.

I use 0000 ext. clock in the fuse selector and then enter 16000000 (or any value) in the clock frequency property

Hi,
This is right, but only for simulation, as setting for ext clock means that you're going to have a pulse of 16MHz or whatever value at XTAL1 pin with XTAL2 not connected. This won't work for crystal in real life on hardware and is explained in the datasheet.

Hope this helps.
Tahmid.

hi everybody,
At here, you has 2 choice to use external clock, [0000 Ext.clock] and [1111 Ex High Freq], and then, on the right box of "clock frequency" you type the clock value that you want, for example : 16MHz or 16000000. Type the clock value into the crystal property .
