help reg the error on IC5141 installtion on fedora 8

I am trying to install IC5141 on fedora 8.
I followed all the install procedure from EDABoard.
i had set the export_POSIX, changed to ncompress, and modified my *.c, vld files

After this Installation continued. But when i try to load the installed products, most of the products are not installed.

first of all. i believe the kernel of linux affects this issue a lot that is why most people suggest to install it on the centos 4.8 or RHEL4. you need to replace the tar version of fedora with tar version 1.13 becuase the untar process is different. Then just reinstall it again and found other solution for other problems.

You need to install csh interpreter.

Sorry for bumping into this old thread, I don't see a solution anywhere, while I have it now. Of course, contacting Cadence help desk, asking for a new version, etc, is not an option for those who simply want to check out the pirate software.
My version is IC5033.

I've also encountered these errors:

sort: cannot read: +2: No such file or directory
sort: cannot read: +3: No such file or directory

and similar.
These can be fixed by searching for usage of sort in installator scripts and replacing with "correct" GNU sort syntax - a "+2" into "-k2,2" and if it is with a minus sign, like "-2" - with "-k2,2n".
I've edited files bundle_fltr, disk_tbl, freeDisk, load_pkgs and vld, and this resulted in a successful install. Although, it failed to list installed products.


Note, this is old software and it has been-linked to a non-TLS glibc, and this has to be fixed accordingly on modern OSes.
