Dear Friend,
Thanks alot for your reply but I don't want to upgrade the SIM900 Firmware. I want to connect it on computer via serial for testing on hyperterminal like EVB so if you have any information about it pls let me know how do I design its pcb? I would appreciate your understading on the quoted question.

Hello, here you go...

See that the .pdf attached is a little newer than yours. It shows that the flash loader tool uses .cla files to upgrade.

I have to tell you I can´t make it work, it always give an error after the message "Flash Loader downloaded in RAM". The error is "err 506", and I can´t find what it´s. Please let me know if it works for you !! Lucky for you...

I can finally make it work !! It was just a problem of data rate, it was selected "1152000" instead of "115200"....Unbelievable, but I have lost 1 day because of this !!

By the way, does anybody have a Firmware version "1137b07SIM900b32_ST" ?

Kosh - can you confirm the firmware rev please? There are no 1137B06... versions on the Simcom FTP site. They go from 1137B05.. to 1137B07...

on the Sim900 EVB there is a switch called "Download" which is in parallel with the PWRKEY. This must be on otherwise you get various errors including the err 506. See attached file SIM900-EVB_v1.01_DL.pdf. Basically just short the PWRKEY inpit on the SIM900 to ground while downloading.

Please let me know which version you currently have (32 or 64) - use AT+GSV to get the version and I will post the appropriate B08 version on Monday

I use Revision:1137B07SIM900M64_ST. I found on this thread. Before update sim900 is xxxxB05SIM900XXX_ST. I have 2 sim900 in this release. Other I not sure. It's waiting for process not on pcb.
After update, I can fix problem on AT+CREG to register sim to provider. Some time, On XXXB05 I wait 1 minute to register. I think, SIM900 found some problem. So SIM900 retry in 1 munute.
In my application ( prepaid mobile topup machine ) use 3 sim switch to SIM900 for 3 operator. It take many switch on/off. more many problem on new AT+CREG to register sim.
