dear all,
I want to make dc to dc convertor . can anyone suggest a circuit with CC/CV mode with short circuit protection

I/P 80 V dc. O/P 10-48 V and current 0.5 to 4 amp controllable by POT.

Regards
Anand

160 w dc to dc convertor

Hi,
Lot of good appl. notes i.e. from w*w.power-int.com/en/design-support/pi-expert-design-software, design Sw is free downloadable:)...
ST has similar semiconductor sortiment.

Re: 160 w dc to dc convertor help needed

Does it need to be isolated. Can be important in choosing a topology.
If isolation is needed , I'd suggest a flyback type of supply , although the power level
is getting towards the high end for flybacks.

Ofcourse;
but check simple some Apll Notes on the w*w.power-int.com home side(as I proposed)_I think, that you will have a problem to select between possibilities + with the designer SW you have your own, i.e. flayback, special solution too:)

hi,
dear all
i could not fit any device from pi
in my application primary current is more hence no pi or no flyback topology is going to fit i think so.
isolation is required.
Please suggest next.

Check out the UC3842. It's old now , but is still a good chip. There are lots of app notes as well. Even if you don't use this exact chip , the circuits are applicable to lots of controllers. At 320W I doubt you are going to find a integrated controller chip. You are going to need to have some external switching transisdort(FET's).A "simple" push-pull type of convertor is probably ok for this sort of power level. the lm3524/uc3846 also come to mind. Be prepaired for a bit of experimenting , these things can be tricky :0)

HI,
You can check at PI for "epr31.pdf"; its a TOP-Switch (TOP249Y)circuit for AC 110V & multi outputs, but has 180W capability:)
Next one: "rdr189.pdf"; 225W, HiperPLC with PLC810PG.
Than; rdr203.pdf, it has PeakSwitch PKS607YN, generates +/-28V for audio amps, 50W DC & 200W peak power...
I believe you has a simple switcher to select_some TOP-Switch i.e._for 30-55V & a poetregulator with current & voltage controlled output for your 10-48V/0.5-4.0A.
You can minimum 2 of these PI descriptionsadapt for the input switcher & put extra circuits to that for the adjustables:)...
Its not very simple, but has good eficiency % the components are up to date.
Anyway, possible you has a solution i.e. from ST too?
I would search on radio amateurs & solar sites, they has often very similar problems as yours...

Hello,
You can look for lots of application notes in TI website (as what was one of the suggestions in the email thread). I believe most semiconductor companies that manufacture power mosfets have similar application notes as reference. Good luck. :D
