three phase to single phase conversion

can some one shed some light on my query below.

I have a system which has three phase input (R,Y,B).
And now i need an output (say 230V),from the same system even if any one of the input phase fails.

i mean something using relays transformers etc.

any hints.

-cheers.

3 phase to single phase conversion

do you have a neutral line?

if it is there, then it will be simple.

if not there comes the trouble

3 phase single phase conversion

i am having three phase connection and is having a neutral connection to drive single phase devices. for three phase devices no need of neutral connection. i thing the neutral is comming to the meter for reading the usage

three phase single phase conversion

If you have a neutral connection

you can use any one of the phase and neutral to get 230v

you can use 3 relays to select the phase which is ON

3 phase to single phase

nandhu,
how do you mean by using relays?

give each lines to each realys and short the output.
and then trigger the relays as per the availabilities?

wont it be a dead short if both more than one realy turns on by some unexpectable conditions?

3 phase 1 phase conversion

Hai

You can use the relays to route the available phase to the ouput.

Once i designed a circuit with relays alone to switch the available phase to the output. It is too long to remember the circuit.

I used a double pole double throw relays.

You can design one yourself. It is simple

if u want single phase from three phase it requires the transformer of 415 to 0-230 or 110-0-110 v .
i think it is simple idea.
