I am trying to simulate Microstrip line to get the S-parameter.
but I don't know how to set the boundary and excitation ?
is there any example for me to reference ?

thanks

why not use Agilent ADS or something? it's simpler

Can HFSS simulate microstrip line? Maybe it's better to use IE3D or Sonnet to simulate plannar structures like the microstrip line.

Dear myem,

Here you are a tutorial for how to simulate a microstrip line on HFSS.

this is great, and how about the S-Parameter report, what should be selected?

thanks!

I think what you want to do is right click on setup1, then select "properties". On the first tab, UNcheck "solve ports only". I believe this will allow for s-parameter calculation, but I'm not totally sure and can't explain why that even makes sense...
