Hi
Does anone have log periodic antenna simulation in CST or HFSS. Thank you very much for reading

Thank you.
What I mean here is how to simulate the crisscross feeding in log periodic dipole antenna. Anyway if you have both please sent me anyone of them. I will give donate 50 point.

Added after 1 minutes:

My mail is ngocanh80@icu.ac.kr

In HFSS one builds a 3D model of the real structure. One feed takes the form of a coax along one boom and a dummy tube along the other. The center conductor is connected at the tip to the dummy conductor. The direction of the elements alternate providing the criss-cross feed.

Details of the feed are found in many references. I have on by Smith on my bookshelf (unfortunately not where I am at the momuent). You might find a picture in the ARRL handbook (popular with HAM radio practioners).

BUt how is the input impedance for the coax. THe input impedance of dipole is 73 Ohm ,is that right. Asume we have 10 dipole equal in lenght and have 73 Ohm impedance. We put the feed in middle of the feeding coax ( 5 dipole in the left, 5 dipoles in the right), so what is the input impedance we must set for the port

Added after 1 minutes:

IS that 73/10 Ohm for the port

From your statement: "assume we have 10 dipoles of equal length..." I suspect that you may not be after a LPD antenna at all.

Have you located reference material on the basic idea behind this type of broad band antenna and is it really what you want to build?

Smith's book is "Log Periodic Design Handbook"

Y. T. Lo "Antenna Handbook", an excellent reference, has more information.

Thank for your reply
I focus more than on the crisscross feeding simulation. I ask the log periodic here in order to get easy understand for other people about crisscross feeding system

Added after 45 minutes:

I have never simulated crisscross feeding system yet. It is difficult for me for the frist time. So Azulykit, if you have some example of simulation please sent me. I will help you out whenever you request

Azulikit, Is that what you mean to draw the feeding in CST or HFSS

I cannot speak to CST models. In HFSS the model is created to look like the feed you have in mind.

I would not be inclined to try the feed shown above literally although it might work.

Have you looked up the references I cited? Any others?

I will try your materials. Thank in advanced

the problem already faced me
crisscross connection in hfss by playing in geometrical options just positions ur antenna so the surface of the edge of one rod can divide it in to part outer and internal and make the rear connection in the iternal part and the other in the outer part.

can anyone send me the crisscross design of log periodic antenna that used CST? i am urgently need it to solve my current log periodic antenna design. Anyone got frabricate the crisscross feeder log periodic antenna ? what materials can be used for crisscross feeder? anyone pls share some information with me

thank you

i have on cst and feko i will send you this evening

hi sezgyno, i cant open the file u attach because i am using CST 2008. It that u can save in the format that cst 2008 can open? i attach the antenna i design and questions.
thank you and best regards!!!

hi i also cant the cst file as cst 2008 files and i cant export from this cst software as sat or iges files to send you to you can import to your cst.you should update your cst to 2010 :D

hi sezgyno,
thank you and please export into sat or iges files to me. I will go search installer of cst 2010 but may not now.
Regarding to the i file attach, i try to export into sat file. but after i export and import using my cst 2008, the simulation is different! do u know what cause the simulation result different? is that cause by the mesh cell different?
I attach the structure of my antenna in sat file. Then u may take a look of my structure? I am wonder my crisscross feeder is design in proper way?

Thank you and best regards.

Dear Sezgyno,

I need the Log periodic dipole antenna files in CST-2010 format now. Could you send me those files?

If you have any documents related to LPDA or printed bowtie antenna, Please send me.

Thank you,

Regards,

Minhlong
