I am designing a stereo headphone amplifier using LM386.The circuit i used is attached below.
Amplification is good and noise is very low .
Now i want to add a PAN control in this. How can i do this ?
Please help me with this guys.
You can insert a balance control using a ganged potentiometer just before the volume controls. This is a dual pot with a common shaft. There are two requirements that must be met:
1) The dual pot must be a linear type. A log type will not work properly. The value can be the same as the volume control.
2) The connections are not the same for the left and right channels. The ground and input pins must be reversed between the left and right channels.
The gain will be reduced to half of what it was. Omitting the series input resistors will partly compensate for this.
