What transistor it could be in switching

In the attached circuit, a square wave is generated at a frequency of 1 - 5 KHz.
The collector is connected to a DC voltage 6 - 15 V.
Load is connected in series with the emitter.
The load under the operating voltages mentioned can draw a current of less than 50 mA.
What transistor from the commonly used transistors should be used here?
