Hi To All,

I am using an oprational ampliter in non-inverting mode .....I had feed the voltage +4.95v and -4.95v to the opamp.... The gain factor that I am using is -10 with resistor are 1k Ri and 10K as Rf .....When I am giving -0.5v as an input I am getting only 4.3v as a output.....but with the opam I think I should get output of 4.9 volts.....Can any body gives me the resason why....the opam is not giving the output of 4.9v....I even try to adjust the OFF Set null voltages using POT control too...also I had tried to give even -1 v too even then opam is giving me a saturated output of 4.3 v ......Can any body explain me the reason and solution of this problem....Any help is appericated......Thanks in advance

If you are using the non-inverting arrangement then, with those resistor values, the theoretical gain will be 1 + (10/1) = 11.

Since you also mention a gain of -10, it is more likely that you are using the inverting configuration.

However, in either case, depending on the actual type of operational amplifier you are using, it may be impossible to achieve an output figure so close to either of the supply rails. Check the data sheet.

Yes you are right it was the mistake I am using opamp in inverting configuration only... I have one more doubts I had used the design for -400mv to -400mv it is giving me the correspoding voltages from like -3.9v to 4 v .....Can this sensing range will be linear ? ....Is the opamp internal parameters play any role for the linearity of Input to output relation ship .....if opamp is used in closed loop gain configuration ?

Review the data sheet of your OP, particularly the output voltage range specification. You can expect linearity up to the specified voltage swing.
