Hi Techies,

I have a question for you.
When building a rectifier circuit for RFID tag, which rectifier is best suited?
I meant to ask whether it is diode/schottky/MOSFET.
Since Tag acquires power from the RF energy emitted by the reader, it will be usually low voltage.
But diode rectifier has ~1.5V voltage drop. So, diode rectifiers are not preferred.
So, one needs to opt either Schottky or MOSFET rectifier circuits.
Among those, which is best suited for passive tag design?

Thanks in advance!!

At high signal to noise ratios any type will work including envelope types. At low signal to noise ratios synchronous ones will give you up to 6 dB improvement over envelope types.

MOSFETs used as rectifier in a RFID tag circuit (at least for the LF and RF range) aren't working as phase sensitive rectifiers, because the chip has no clock besides the received carrier. They are steered by the input voltage to achieve lower voltage drop than diode rectifiers.
