Zener diode and diode explaned as which way does power flow

please explane how power or current flow through the diode and zener diode?

for the normal diode current flows from anode to cathode
In zener from cathode to anode because it is used in reversed biased mode

currnet flow depend upon p type carriers n ntype carries,in forword bais both diods work same but in reverse baising zener diode mantain a constant voltage across it,where simple diode doesn't work in it
 

The normal diode acts as a simple switch that turns on (conducts current) when forward biased (positive voltage to the anode and negative to the cathode) and then off (blocks current flow) when reverse biased (negative voltage to the anode and positive to the cathode). The zener diode meanwhile, behaves the same way as the normal diode during forward bias. The main difference is when it is reverse biased, the voltage drop across it remains constant in a wide range of current. Thus, its typical use as a voltage regulator.

Just remeber that:
..many people choose to make conventional flow their notation of choice when drawing the direction of charge motion in a circuit. If for no other reason, the symbols associated with semiconductor components like diodes make more sense this way. However, others choose to show the true direction of electron travel so as to avoid having to tell themselves, "just remember the electrons are actually moving the other way" whenever the true direction of electron motion becomes an issue.
