Hi frnds.. Plz Suggest me..........

Hi..

I want to get clarification myself in the following..
1) I am using allegro 16. Is it possible or is there any other tool related to allegro, which should be easily understandable???

2) I am not at all satisfied with my work PCB designing and Hardware designing, i want to learn something extra.. what can i look for??

the toold you are using is good but you may have to learn to use some good tools and used in companies and by professional people. you may learn orcad or cadstar and go still in depth of multilayered boards. i dont know how many levels of layered board are you comfortable with.. but the more you go in depth the more you learn and be more competent...

you may also have to learn placing the tracks in desnly populated boards... learn about smd components placement... design of power supply boards. learn isolation techniques for noise in the board. somponent packages. which and when to use... i hope you have designed some boards with smd components and are aware of its packages, and specifications tooo....

use ORCAD... is good tool for begineer... good organised tool... lots of tutorial available on the net...

as far as allegro is concerned, i think it is the most poweful tool for complex pcb design. However if you only need to design 2-4 layer board you can switch to pcad or eagle pcb.

i thank u all for yr suggestions.. my second question is that i want to quit frm Hardware designing field.. So, which field(VLSI, Embedded or Chip designing) can i choose???
I know only C and C++, but don't have any programming experience also.... thank u..

if u happen to know C and C++ you can switch over to Embedded btw why do u want to quit hardware

I am having interest on hardware field.. but i couldnt learn a lot where i m working presently.. thats why i want to come out from my current firm.. So.. In order to build my profile as strong, i want to add other fields along with this hardware designing..

I doubt if you could get any answer in the forum... its your life and career ... you have to decide it....

My personal opinion, since you want to strengthen your profile it would be good if you concentrate on one factor, suppose your designing board, then think about Signal integrity, Schematics and digital. This will surely fetch you more options than switching over embed or VLSi. Once you know more on the field you are working you will be taken as package. When you are changing over Learning more on the field you are working will be asset than knowing it in tit and bits.
I agree that you feel there is no scope for learning at your firm, but in every other firms there wont be scope for learning Organization considers only productivity. The rest of learning and acquiring knowledge is in our hands.
More over its your gut feeling about your job and the decision made by you is final.
