Some component in the RTL Schematic Seems Unconnected but the simulation Works

What Could be the Reason or is it actually connected to ground.

It usually is because you did not connect it in the module port list. If it is connected to ground, then clicking on the node should show this.

Then again, if it is really not connected then I would expect the and2 and or2 up there to be optimized away...

RTL these is only graphic scheme of functional behaviour , Technology shematic will show realistic implemention. OR AND and other functions will translate into LUTs.
