pic interface with gps(gt-320r)

when i connect my gps module(gt320r) to pc. it can read NMEA commands(ie,it out nmea format) but the data is not correct.the time sync not correct and the longittude & lattitude is 000000000.the satellite sellection is automatic and the next feild is '1' (is it indicate an error?). Is my gps module working?
i connected it through hyper terminal (4800 brt)
 

it sounds like you have poor signal - how many satelities are shown?
we find in many buildings GPS does not work at all or give faulty results

GPS if not operated for long duration goes to cold start and takes more time to come up... the flash of the gps is too big and needs to be eraased till new data is written .. my gos takes half a day to come up if not operated for 15 or 20 days..

or if you have GUI then initiate warm or hot start. see that the antenna is placed outside the window for good signal.....
 

The GPS register will rfrsh in every 3 sec. if u connctd it to th serial port(If configured), it can receive RMC packet in every 3 sec
