I am simulating some simple differential striplines to check the conductor loss from DC to 20GHz. However, the conductor loss does not strictly follow sqrt(freq). For example, the loss is 0.513dB and 0.733dB at 4G and 9G respectively. The extrapolated loss at 16G would be 0.953dB at 16dB. However, the simulation gives 0.872dB. Is this error acceptable? Or could there be something wrong with my model?
Another question is related to the line dimensions. The conductor cross section is about 5umX20um. Since it's comparable to skin depth of copper at my simulation frequency, should I apply any special mesh operations or something else besides setting "solve inside" options for the conductors?
Thanks in advance.
