Hey all!
I am a total newbie at this areа and I would like to learn everything about pic programing. I was searching for this a lot and it appears that there are more types of chips and I'm totally confused.. So can anyone give me like a introduction to it or point me where to start from, with some small projects and what do I need to convert the languages.. Also which programming language is used in here..?

visit microchip.com official company for PIC controllers... you can start your learning with PIC16 series controller or pic16f877 series...
refer mohammed ali mazidi on PIC controllers ........ its simple and easy to understand for any new begineers.........

Hi,
A few suggestions from me:
1. Download the datasheet of PIC16F877A or PIC16F887:
PIC16F877A - ww1.microchip.com/downloads/en/devicedoc/39582b.pdf
PIC16F887 - ww1.microchip.com/downloads/en/DeviceDoc/41291F.pdf
2. Download the mid-range reference manual.
3. Determine programming language. Choices include ASM, BASIC, C, PASCAL. I would recommend BASIC or C.
4. Determine compiler. I would recommend mikroC or mikroBASIC.
5. Download the mikroElektronika free ebook - **broken link removed**
6. Start with the mikroElektronika book.
7. Make many many codes to get a grip of things.

When you have questions, come to the forum and ask.
