First of all, hi to all. I'm an oldy but a newbie here.
Q: Has anyone worked with digital calipers as far as accessing the data ouputs and utilizing the data for any type of control logic?
I have a china made digi caliper with an output port and want to build a device that can use the data output to control preset limits or have a alarm or signal activate.
I was hoping to breadboard something to this effect without having to port it to a PC. In other words keep the package small.
The only info I have on the output is that it has 4 pins and operates at 1.5v. Pins are positive, clock, Data, Negative. Clock signals are 90khz . The caliper sends a burst of data approximately three times each second. Each burst contains 48 bits of data.
If anyone has any ideas, please give me a shout. I have more info on what it is I want to do if you need it.
Thanks
Gary
