Hi,
Can anybody recommend a good tool for PCB signal integrity analysis?

Go with HyperLynx if you deal with relatively simple designs. You should go with SpecctraQuest for more complex designs.

Thank you. Is any of these software available as demo, or only commercial versions?

Mentor 's ICX is most professional SI software of the world.

someone has used Protel signal integrity function?

Which signal integrity tool to use depends on many factors. Many Allegro PCB designs are analyzed using Allegro PCB SI (aka SPECCTRAQuest) because of the tight integration with the PCB design tool.

For a good SI book, refer to High-Speed Digital Design : A Handbook of Black Magic - 1992 - Still the best book for those new to SI.

Have a look at Signal Integrity

See Signal Integrity Software Products (at the bottom).

Personally I agree with cyberray (pencil, paper and a calculator) and a cup of coffee (with biscuits).
