Hi all
I am trying to simulate 16x2 LCD with P89v51RD2 in proteus but it shows only 1st line simulation.
When i burned it in chip it works correctly.

So my problem is to know that proteus supports 4-bit mod or not????

Thanks

Hi,

Yes it does support 4bit mode on bits d4 to d7, but without seeing your design or ideally running it on your hex code is not possible to say what your error in Proteus is.

The address of the second line in proteus may be different from the hardware. You can check this in properties of lcd in proteus

Thanks both of you for reply.

But i am sure that my ckt is correct.
Here i am attaching my proteus file and keil project. i am using p89c51rd2 in my original project but it is not available in proteus so i am using another ic but same core.

there are three possibilities that something does work?

1) the circuit doesn't work;
2) the code doesn't work;
3) your luck doesn't work.

so take your pick.

Thanks for option millwood but i will not choose any option.
;-)
because my ckt is works and code also work.

i want to just know that why poteus show only 1st line not 2nd line.

if your hardware is working and your code is working then it must be bad luck.
