Hai Folks
in my application, i'm driving a stepper motor in microstep with PWM drivers. i like to know, how the microstep is decided. i.e., 24 steps and so.... Is it Stepper Motor Dependent..

it depends on the resolution that you want to achieve. for instance, say you have a motor with step size of 18 degrees, and you want it to have finer steps, you do microstepping. it also depends on the step size of the motor. some steppers have fine steps (like 1.8 degrees per step) and if that's fine with you already, you do not have to do microstepping. you can even use simple half stepping which would give you (0.9 degrees per step in a motor with 1.8 degrees step size).
hope that helps! =)
