Hi!

My question would be about GSM repeaters.

When you install GSM band selective repeaters, what about zones that are covered both by repeater and donor BTS site? For example, when you have in-building solution with GSM repeater, some of the "repeated" signal will go out of building and mix with existing signal on same channel. This is impossible to avoid, because you cannot set boundaries to signal.

So my question is: is 12dB margin enough to avoid potential problems? does receiver see both signal but consider it as multipath fading? is there any problems that I'm not aware of?

Re: GSM repeaters

Hi!!!!
First repeaters we are installed where there is no BTS signalling or in other words it is the extension of any BTS sector so repeater is also itself a micro site.as u are talking abt channel repeaters(it just pick the signal frm the BTS via Pannel Antenna, amplifies it and then transmit it to any building via micro Antenna).and after that we check the SNR it must be increased.-22 to -25 is the best.
Is u hv any query so feel free to contact...

Re: GSM repeaters

BTS that I am using as donor BTS is covering the whole area around the building. Inside the building there is no coverage, so I use repeater. What about the signal from repeater that leaves the building. How will it affect existing signal from the BTS (they are on same channel)?
