Hi guys,

When designing a "boost" converter what are the parameters needed when selecting the siwting diode to the output? i'm designing one going up to 150V @50mA so is it just: high voltage, current > 50mA (say 100mA) and fast switching (schottky diode)?

Thanks,
Ringo

Added after 50 minutes:

Would the forward voltage have to be 200V (Vf)?

Yor will need good margin 200V, and much more ma. Read some IC data sheets as a guide, they give very good guidance. Schottkys don't go to 200v.
