has anyone successfully sent a string using compin in proteus via hyperterminal? i have tried it but failed. when i send a string, its like it only receives the first two characters of the string and then it hangs.. but, if i send just a character, it is successfully received.. is this a flaw in proteus wherein it cant really simulate serial communication? please help.. thanks..

well, i tested from terminal to compin (sorry, my pc doesn't comes with hyperterminal but i got realTerm.. it's free)

i could type from virtual terminal to ComPIN and receive in RealTerm...

also i typed from RealTerm (even a string-at-once and a complete file) and all reached very well (at least at 9600-8-n-1)

could you tell us more about your problem?

Added after 16 minutes:

OK, i took an old example and set a compin so a micro can send data from COMPIN, i think all reached good... i set a virtual terminal to see what does the PIC receives...
