Dear all:
The link website is shown below is the one cell battery protection IC

In page "8", It's written the VDD pin's absolute maximum rating is 12v

I have a problem with this spec. Hope someone can give me a solution. Thanks!!

1.The one cell Li-ion battery cell is only about 4.2V. Why or when the BPIC's VDD Pin need 12V rating???

damage. These values must therefore not be exceeded under any conditions.

4.2 V lies in range specified electrical specification. So overcharge u can set around 4.2 V.

Usually, the overcharge protection voltage is set around 4.3V

So the VDD is protected at 4.3V.

Thus, why the VDD pin need 12V rating??

When the 12V voltage occurs at VDD pin??
