Cadstar to PADS

There has a translator tools by Mentor,If you install Pads, you can find a schcvt.exe file ,it can convert Cadstar Schematic to PADS.Good luck!

Re: Cadstar to PADS

hi v-Kumar,
wich release do you use of PADS ? If you use PADS 9.0 ol later, you have the translators (schematic and pcb) in your installation. In 2007 releases of PADS you need to download and install the translators, from Mentor site.

Do not use .rinf ! Is used by Cadstar only for NETLIST. The translator NOT recognize .rinf format.

Another, wich version of Cadstar schematic of cadstar you need to convert ? Please see the list of version in the PADS Translator.

Last argument, the schematic source are ok ? Otherwise the conversion are not good, off course !

Skywalker.

Re: Cadstar to PADS

I have converted old releases of source Cadstar files (5.0 and 6.0) in PADS, fine and good !

Must important to have in Cadstar, NOT used strange configurations or tricks.

But remember, ANY good conversion after made, NEED some manually tuning.

For "aey" very good slide, congratulations !

Skywalker.
