Hey, I want to use a Rectifier diode in my circuit to half the power given to a bulb using 240~

Ideally im after 3 1N4004's (i have 3 identical seperate circuits)
my electronics store only stocks 2
will it be ok to use a 1N4005? does anyone know if the result still be the same as the 1N4004's?

Thanks

The rating for 1N400X diodes stars from 1 ..
1 => 50Vdc
4 => 400Vdc

Any higher number can replace any lower number ..
