Hi,

I have made a CMOS design in Tanner Tools L-Edit and have simulated it in Tanner Tools T-Spice, I was wondering if there is any commands for T-Spice that can give an estimate of the dynamic power consumption of the circuitry?

Thanks,

Elyments

Just plot the current drawn from your power supply.

You might want to average the plot over time.

Thanks for the reply. That will give me the total power consumption right? is it ok to assume that static power consumption is negligible compared to dynamic?

You could just run it twice - one with a clock, once without. That will tell you the static and static+dynamic. Static should be virtually zero if it is logic.

Keith.
