Hi all,

I am seriously looking forward to start a PCB fabrication(only the final PCB with out components) plant in INDIA

Hence i need to now the Industrial PCB fabrication process which is cheap for starters
also which can make bulk quantity

i know the manual process of PCB fabrication but can anyone tell me the industrial method in detail and what machinery will i require

thanks

The OP has requested to know how a PCB is manufactured in an industrial /professional way. The link given is of an mother board manufacturing process where the process starts after the PCB is mmanufactured and the said factory's task is to mount the components, test the mother board. Both are different processes. :?:

You do not know anything about the industrial side of the business and you want to start your own?

Isn't that a bit of a big risk, going into something you do not know about?

To find out the information, why not try going round some pcb fabrication factories posing as a potential customer?

thanks all for replying

i was out of town so couldn't reply earlier

dear cyberrat
i am an engineer and a business man
i just dont now the Industrial PCB fabrication process
i tried ur idea but it didnt work
they didnt alow me to see the process

an MY_BOOK

ur books are not related to my area of interest

but any ways thanks for the replys

You are funny, Potential customers will ask a manufacturer to present equipment lists. That happens

Some fabricator factories will ignore your request if you not show your identity.
At least they need to think that you are a potential customer.

The PCB fabrication line needs some main machines, if you purchase this machines you need to spend a lot of money...

I have relate info. but I need my real potential customers. :D

I can arrange funds only after i know how much do i need
for that i need to know what machines i need to have
for that i need to now the process in details
also i don't want to start making every thing related to PCB
i m looking to make only simple PCB at the beginning with out any components mounted later on if i get sucess i will expand

and Leno don't worry i wont steal your customers :)
please help me out here

In my opinion, PCB manufacturing is a kind of skilled trade, also when performed in an industrial scale. To produce acceptable quality
respectively to produce anything at all, you need considerable craftmanship, either personally or by taking on skilled employees.
The obvious method to start the business is to find a respective expert. He'll surely know about the required machinery.

For simple PCB's you can do with screen printing and roller tinning with drills and cutters

as per my view for industrial PCB's you need Gerber editing and printer, CNC drilling/cutting machine, through hole plating system, Photo resist coating machine ( Dry film or liquid ), exposure/development system , etching system, and hot air leveling unit. And some company having machine( I don’t know the name ) it will check the final PCB with the Gerber and show any connection problems in multilayer boards ( errors)

@rajudp
thanks for your reply

i will look for the list u gave

Hi..
You can look for screen printing method. It is much cheaper than photoprinting.
I am Also looking for screen printing method and now collecting information regarding it.

hi Spidyelectronics

thanks for ur tip about screen printing

but is it as accurate as photo printing method

also i heard a method by which u can print directly on a pcb using a printer
have u heard about this?

r u searching just for some project or for mass production

i have many doubts regarding pcb manufacturing like

how do we remove the photoresist after etching?

and when and how is tinning done?
i.e. it should be done at what stage

how the layers in a double sided pcb are connected?

for single side pcb's screen printing is ok

you can print directly to copper clad from printer ( search internet for altered printers), but i don't think it can be used for production

you can remove photoresist in sodium hydroxide solution

the tinning is done after the solder mask coating, the simple method is screen printing the solder-mask pattern and the next is using liquid photoimagable solder-mask. dry film solder-mask is also available but very hard to find

the layers in double side pcb are connected using via's with through hole plating

The folowing book may help u in finding many equipments for making PCB

hi singhania12,
With screen printing you can do up to two layer pcb. The quality depends upon your skill. But you cab reach upto 0.3mm track width, not less than that.
But for begining, screenprinting option is good, it is cheaper and it will give you time to settle and then you can invest in big machines for photo printing.
For more detail information, you can meet screen printing machines provider, they will give you propoer information. (It will be based upon your local condition).
Hope it will help you..

thanks Spidy

i will definitely look for screen printing option
i think with that we further need etching tank, dryer, sodium hydroxide cleaning, solder mask(using screen printing),tinning, drilling

i thing that complete the list
if some body can validate this pls reply
thanks

I think it is the complete list. Afterward you can add some more machines to improve quality or to increase number of layers.
You also can try ammonia for etching. it is normally used in industry here.
hope this will help you
