ic 741 tester

hello
i am building an IC TESTER which aongst its various functions has to test for proper functioning of op amp 741.How can i test it? i am using PIC for testing of various logic ics as of now.

how to test an op amp

You could hook the 741 up as a noniverting buffer (connect the output of 741 with the inverting input).
Then you could test if a digital signal feeds through one to one.
But this tells you only if the 741 is totally "dead'.

To verify specifications you will need various 741 set-ups.

Another way is to create a multivibrator using 741 and test it.ut this method of testing will force you to use different iC bases for testing each ics The above mentioned voltage follower method is a simple one and good for easy checking
