microsoft word 2007

I do not know the details of 2007 as I use 2003. In that version you use the "insert symbol" menu item for special symbols. The one you give is not commonly used by businesses and liberal arts students and may not be in the font set you use.

I have tried my above suggestion on many fonts I have, including specific mathematical fonts, and cannot find the symbol you give. Only the upper case Sigma without the circle.

random symbols inside a word 2007 comment

hi hameeds01,

your picture dose not contain my request!!!!

Thanks

set text field microsoft word 2007

That must be a custom symbol of some sort, I have searched a bit and I couldn't find any symbol like that and I think I've never seen it before too.

You know the context where that symbol is used, do a search on google and use some words to relate the symbol's name to the context.

how can i insert the sigma symbol in word 2007

How do you know, that it's a symbol from any existing character set? It can be simply a text field with a circular outline.

i found this symbol inside a text as shown in this pic

as you see, it is used inside a text as well as the figure

summation symbol in word 2007

It seems to be what FvM says, to me the circle around the uppercase sigma seems just a kind of highlight/distinction from the rest of the text as it isn't used in any of the formulas in the picture.
Also the authors say it defines a summing operation which is usually defined by the uppercase sigma.

Custom font or inserted it as an image maybe.

I use linux and openoffice so here's how a custom symbol looks like.
I'm sure you can do something similar with the MS office suite.

i do not know what is the open office, could u please tell me more about it and how can i install it on my vista?

thanks

sigma symbol microsoft word vista

OpenOffice is a free office suite, you can read a good description about it here:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/OpenOffice.org
and you can download it here:
https://www.openoffice.org/

Mind you that it looks like office xp and if you are very used to MS office then it can take some time to adjust.

If you want to try to change then a good time is when you don't have a tight schedule and you are starting a new document/report (in my opinion that is) so you can format the document from the start and learn how to do things bit by bit.

Hello Aya2002,

Well you see in the image that you attached, most likely the writer used a specialized math/text editing software, from what I saw it seems like some kind of paper, now in papers usually the use some specific programs to do equations, check this link:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Formula_editor
I have used Mathtype, Microsoft equation editor, and Latek. and they all have that symbol you are looking for.

Hope that I helped!

Regards,

The Sniper (+)
