microstrip bandpass filter

Microstrip Bandpass Filter

Bandwidth: 900 Mhz to 1100 Mhz.

Hi, Can any one please help me to design this filter? I am new in this field. I am using Ansoft Designer.

Which type will be suitable? stepped impedance filter, combline filter, hairpin filter, interdigital filter or any other??

Any help is very much appreciated. Thank You.

ansoft designer microstrip filter

Ansoft Designer has filter wizard.
You can select once you finish all methods mentioned above. I prefer hairpin filter.

microstrip combined filter

Thanks kspalla,

I have tried the 3 pole hairpin filter. Isn't that too small to fabricate?? its like 0.09 millimeter gap between the traces. I need a bit more easier one. Any other recommendations? And how can I get the actual PCB layout from Ansoft Designer?

1ghz bandpass filter

You can go for thick substrate to achieve good spacing.
I do not have Ansoft Designer, I request some one in this forum to give command sequence.

microstrip filter + ansoft

You can easily make such a filter with LC technology which has a better performance at this frequency. Why do you have to make microstrip filter?

Actually phytech, Its my final year project. I have to do it in microstrip. Anyone please help me out. Thanks.

hairpin bandpass filter microstrip

u can use parallel coupled BPF.its easy to design and fabricate.u can concern microwave engineering by D M Pozer for calculations.

Re: Microstrip Bandpass Filter at 1 GHZ with 200MHZ Bandwidt

Hello there,

I am having trouble to get the print out of the layout from Advanced Design System(ADS).

I already have the design in ADS. To fabricate the interdigital filter, i need the negative image of the layout (copper in white colour and empty space in black colour).

Can anyone please help me.. Thank you so much in advance.

You have to export your desing in Gerber format or GDSII format. You can do it easily by File-->Export--> Select your format and options then create your file .
Gerber file can be processed in a software to get the negative film ( for instance Gerber Tools.. etc.) or at the factory someone can get this image...

Thanks BigBoss, I have managed to export it into Gerber format. But, another problem is that I have tried many Gerber tools, I can only view and edit, but not printing in negative.. Can you recommend me any Gerber Software to do that...? Thank You very much.
