specify the mode of diode in following circuit it is on or off?
under figure:
specify Status diode, on or off?

**broken link removed**

It is obvious that the diode is ....
1) Look at the symbol of the battery.
2) Look at the symbol of the diode.
3) Learn about POLARITY.
4) Ask your teacher.

Hi,

in the above condition the diode is ON.

description:

As the diode Ptype is connected to the positive terminal and Ntype is connected to the negetive terminal of the power supply, the diode is said to be in forward bias and conducts the current.

Undoubtedly the diode in Forward Bias irrespective of Diode Families. Because the supply Vdd is 10 V connected with the diode and total resistance of 20Ohm (15+5 in series).

its ON ... and if D is Si-diode
... and I= (10V - cca 0.7V) / (15+5) = cca 0.465A
