MSB vs LSB

hi,
i am stuck on a question from bernard sklar book:

When representing timed events, what dilemma can easily result in confusing he msb with lsb?
all that i understud by reading the related articles from book, is that when describing timed events we have to provide the right discription to denote most significant bit and least significant bit.

is this right?

Re: MSB vs LSB

Actually, there is an answer in the same book.

The dilemma is in a graphical representation.

On the one hand, if we draw a signal along a time axis, the first bit will be the leftmost.

On the other hand, if we draw a flow diagram of signal processing, it is convenient to show first bit as rightmost.

Thus it is always recommended to specify whether MSB or LSB goes first.
