Real-Time Operating System is a multitasking operating system intended for real-time applications.
It is used on every device/system needing real time operations that means operations based not only on correctness but also upon the time (clock cycles) in which they are performed.
 
What is RTOS ?

An operating systems for handling all real-time tasks. the Wikipedia Link (above) would help.

It is a time deterministic multitasking system .
It is of two types -
1. Hard RTOS
2. Soft RTOS

Written for the 16-bit Pic30, 33, 24.
Full source code and a small tutorial on rtos systems.
Uses mplab simulator and the logic analyser window to show when, and the order that the tasks are running for debugging.
