hi all
those working on digital image processing please help me out.
firstly the features like pixel then intensity level with them i m clear
next when we consider eg. of finger print recognization or any image recognization then we use some transformation to frequency like fourier or any other then what exactly frequency in this?

please somebody help
i will be thankful to this[/i]

In Images the term frequency is the how fast color is changing. The frequency i shigh near edges in the image

in image processing ,
frequency means the intensity level change on pixel values.
if the rate of chage of pixel value is large then freq is high
if low then freq is low...........

in a generic meaning , we can describe the frequency , as a parameter that describe the rate of change of a quantity .
In communication systems , this talks about the rate of change of the signal amplitude .
Here amplitude is the quantity .. that frequency tells about.
The same understanding can be expanded to , color or some other parameter of an image..

Thank you
